“The Stallion owner must give the mare owner after a successful covering (that resulted in a pregnancy) a cover certificate that proves that the mare was covered by a specific stallion. These books that contain the Cover Certificate / Birth Nomination are supplied by the FPSSA to Stallion owners. Copied or altered Cover Certificates will not be accepted. When the foal is born the Birth Notification section of the Certificate should be completed and sent to the Fpssa office and not direct to the Fps. The Fpssa will then confirm that the name chosen for the foal has not been used and then send this form to the Fps after which a Blue Birth Registration paper will be issued. The Fps sends this form to the Fpssa that will make a copy and then send it to the owner of the foal. This Blue paper must be presented to the judges with the foal at the time of the judging.”
